Hey, It's Nice To Meet You

We’re a high school sweethearts success story and the husband-and-wife duo behind A Healthy Variety. When we first got married 4 years ago, the hubby was dumping a can of black beans into a tortilla, popping it into the microwave, and calling it a burrito. After 4 years of marriage and realizing that pretty, healthy food is the way to my heart, he has since planned and prepared a three-course Valentine’s day dinner complete with parsley garnishes. You could say he’s learned a thing or two about cooking over the last few years!

In the beginning of our marriage, my husband didn’t really like salads. I told him something then that has since become almost a mantra for us:

“If you don’t like salads, then you’re doing it wrong!”

And as it turns out, that was true. He happily eats salads now, but not the wilty iceburg lettuce plus chunks of raw red onion and 2 overly crunchy croutons kind. I think healthy food, if made right, can be the most delicious and beautiful food there is. Not to mention how important eating “A Healthy Variety” of food is to our overall health and longevity. It’s our hope that the recipes on this blog will make healthy eating a more accessible and sustainable part of your daily life.
